About
Dr. Parsons
Dr. Parsons grew up in Atlanta and attended Georgia Military
Academy, now Woodward Academy, before graduating from Therrell
High School.
After
high school, Dr. Parsons joined the U. S. Army Reserves,
beginning as a private first class. On active duty, he received
his first dental training as a Laboratory Specialist. His
initial exposure to dental personnel while on active military
duty largely accounts for his career choice. Ten years later
he left the U. S. Army Reserves as a dentist and an officer.
Dr.
Parsons attended the Georgia Institute of Technology (GA
Tech). He completed his initial dental training, training
required to be a family dentist, at the Medical College
of Georgia, being awarded the "DMD" degree, which is the
Latin form of the "DDS" degree. Dr. Parsons practiced general
dentistry and worked with Headstart and Homestart programs
in North Georgia.
Dr.
Parsons completed his first residency, a two-year program
in Periodontics, which is the study and treatment of diseases
affecting the tissues supporting teeth. He practiced Periodontics
in Smyrna, GA. While he no longer practices Periodontics,
he does make use of this training to help patients improve
and maintain dental health during Orthodontic treatment.
Dr.
Parsons completed his second residency in Orthodontics at
the University of Kentucky. During this residency, he also
completed a graduate program including basic research which
led to a "MSD" degree, Masters of Science. Dr. Parsons'
research was on cells which resorb bone, osteoclasts, and
their origination from blood stem cells found in bone marrow.
Having
completed dental school, two residencies, and a graduate
program, Dr. Parsons returned to Atlanta and began practicing
Orthodontics exclusively. He has practiced Orthodontics in
Gwinnett County for over 20 years, and he has offices in
Lawrenceville and Dacula, Georgia.
Dr.
Parsons is a member of several educational and professional
dental organizations including the American Dental Association,
Georgia Dental Association, the American Association of
Orthodontics, and the Southern Association of Orthodontists.
He attends several orthodontic meetings each year to bring
his patients the most recent advancements in orthodontics.
He is married and has two grown daughters.

The
Staff
Dr.
Parsons staff is composed of two teams to make your experience
pleasant. The Front Desk Team will help you with your appointments,
insurance, school excuses, and financial matters. The Clinical
Team will help you with all the matters directly related
to your treatment. Of course, if you need assistance, any
of our staff members will promptly help you or find someone
who can. Our success is measured by how well you are satisfied
with your experience.
Each
staff member has been extensively trained and continues
to receive additional training each month in our office.
Each team is led by an experienced manager who has worked
with Dr. Parsons for many years. Darci has been
with Dr. Parsons for over 10 years, and Beth has been with
the practice for more than 15 years. So you can expect to
see familiar faces each time you come to our office.
We always
welcome your comments about our service. We recognize that
you would only express your comments if you cared which
allows us to improve. During your treatment, "Comment Cards"
will give you the opportunity to tell us what you like and
dislike about your treatment. Then each month our teams
review your comments at staff meetings to discuss how we
can improve our services. We also have annual retreats where
we have workshops to improve our communication skills, and
to reaffirm our commitment to quality patient care.
After
many years of cultivating this team-oriented environment,
one principle has become clear, "You are the most important
member of our team."
